I just had to replace the one in my car. If you can work on cars it is fairly easy to do. the hardest part is getting the motor out because of the mounts. but once you get it out it is super easy. The average cost for a head gasket is about 100 dollars. If you take it to someone to get it fixed they will charge you around 600, depending on where you take it.

02 Chevy Malibu cylinder misfire?

Bad plugs, or plug wires. Blown head gasket, or burnt valve. If you are loosing coolant with no apparent leak you may have a blown head gasket. Sweet smell at the exhaust is another sign of blown gasket. If none of that applies, replace the plugs and go from there.
