It is easier to handle the tank with no gas as gas weighs about 7-1/2 pounds per gallon. Take the tank off and then the strap just connects to the frame and then remove the tank unit.
Where I live if the truck was manufactured with automatic slack adjusters you can NOT replace them with manual ones. Check with your local DOT you never know.
Get a manual if you need pictures and it will tell you how also.

They are easy to replace but hard to get at under the dash. Sinply remove the pin holding the pedals in and the rods to the cylinders and the pedals will comeout.
