In most countries one had to be 18 or older in order to fight. WW1 was fought from 1914-18, so someone who fought for a few months in 1918 would have been born in 1900 (or earlier). Obviously, some men lied about their age but it does mean that veterans are now well over 100, and there are very few still alive.
Old age. The youngest legal veteran of World War 2 is going to be 78 years old at this point.
African American soldiers were taken off buses with their uniforms on,beaten and many were killed. They fought a two front war: Racism in the military and the old Jim Crow Laws in America. Sad to say but they were treated as second class citizens after fighting for our Country.
Vets of WW 2, Korea & Vietnam are covered under the old GI Bill. Veterans of the later wars are covered under the new GI Bill. There is a short window of time (during the Cold War) where veterans are/were not covered by the GI Bill, but rather by VEAP (Veterans Educational Assistance Program). http://www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/benefits.htm == ==
4 years old probably
nobody knows unless there is a person alive today that was in da world war 1 ting
There are no surviving US Veterans of World War 1 now. Think about it most of them were born in 1899. They would be 111 years old if they were alive today.

The last two British veterans from World War 1 have just died (July 2009).
Many veterans of WW2 are still alive. They will be at least 88 years old
Well, if they are surviving, they haven't died yet! And there are three verified veterans that are 109 years old that were living as of 3/25/2010.
Most old or retired soldiers are called Veterans. Veterans that have reached the senior age are sometimes referred to as Senior Veterans.

The world was ruled by the military during WW2. Men that weren't in the service were either too old, too young, veterans, disabled, unfit for the military, of critical civilian employment, or in prison.
I don't know, but on the TV show, both Oscar and Felix were World War II veterans, which would have made them at least in their mid-40's.
