To drive you must be at least 17 years old. If you are receiving the higher rate of the Disability Living Allowance, you may start driving at 16. You must have a provisional driving licence which you can get up to 3 mounths before you birthday. (but it isn't legal until your birthday) Also you must have somone who is 21 and has had their full licince for at least 3 years supervising you in the car at all times.
You can start to take driving lessons in the UK at age 17 and apply for your test anytime thereafter. Inorder to sit the test however you need to have successfully passed the DVLA Theory Test.
