The Montgomery Ward Western Field 16 gauge 550b shotgun is valued at $200 in excellent condition. Fair condition value is $75.
Less than $100. sales@countrygunsmith.net
Mossberg made that shotgun for Montgomery Ward's Western Field fun line. It was the Model 185 in Mossberg shotgun line.
Chances are your shotgun was made by savage/stevens for the montgomery wards company.
I BELIEVE THE TEXAS RANGER SOLD BY MONTGOMERY WARD WAS MANUFACTURED BY J. STEVENS. IT IS BASICALLY THE SAME GUN AS A STEVENS MODEL 94. PROBABLY MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 1925 AND 1929. I HAVE ONE IN 16 GAUGE AND LOVE IT.
The shotgun is a Mossberg 500. The Standard Catalog lists this at $200 in Very Good condition. Deduct 20-30% for having a Montgomery Ward name stamped on it.
It was made by Iver Johnson after their Champion Model for Montgomery Ward
$100
Firearms were made for Montgomery Ward by several makers. The serial number does not help, but any model numbers on the shotgun will. Most likely candidate is Stevens, but Savage and Mossberg also made guns marked with the Western Field label,
