One can easily spice two wires together with a little patience and the know how. First strip each wire with a wire stripper or a knife or scissor or your teeth. Next, twist the two wires together. Lastly, tape the exposed ends of the wire with electrical tape.

How to connect two wires together?

You can solder them after using a western splice connection. You can use a mechanical butt splice and you can connect the wires together with a wire nut after twisting the wires together. All you have to remember is that the insulation of the splice has to be equal to the wire insulation or greater.

Can you ever use a butt splice connector with 120 volt ac?

Yes, butt splice connectors are rated up to the 600 volt insulation range.

What are connecting wires?

Connecting wires in electrical terms is called an electrical splice. All electrical splices have to be made in a junction box.

What is the procedure for splicing home service wires?

The electrical code states that any splice in a wire, the insulation over the splice has to be equal to or greater than the insulation on that of the rest of the wire. So what ever type of splice that you use make sure that you insulate it well.

Can I run two different size wires on same circuit?

Yes, #2 wire can be spliced in a couple of ways. There is a device on the marked called an Insulink. The two ends of the wires are stripped about an inch in length and inserted into each end of the link. There is a special crimping tool that is used to crimp the wires into the link. You can find these types of splices in home distributions where the utility company connects to the wires that protrude from the weather head. Another type of splice for this size of wire is using #2 wire lugs on each end of the wire and then bolting the two lugs together back to back. This type of splice is used in motor connections. The splice is then half lap double wrapped with rubber amalgamation tape and then half lap double wrapped with regular electrical tape.

Can i bypass the inertia switch with amp fuse?

Why bother? Just remove the wires from the inertia switch, and splice them together with a butt connector.

What is a wire Lap Splice?

It is the same type as the western union splice, where the two wires are overlapping and wound back on the opposite conductor.

What does the term - wire splice - mean?

A wire splice is the joining of two or more wires together. Commonly this is done with an approved wire joining nut. All slices are to be made in junction boxes to prevent fire should the wire splice become unserviceable.

How do you conect the wires to the electric windows the wires have been cut?

Match the wires by their color codes and splice them together with splice connectors and a crimping tool.

What is wrong with taping a broken wire?

There is nothing wrong taping a broken wire. As long as the wire connection is made with an approved mechanical device, the splice can be taped. With broken wires, usually the conductor is put together again with a butt splice. On larger size conductors the butt splice is just bare metal. This type of splice has to be tapped. The code rule states that the tape insulation must be brought up to the insulation value of the existing insulation factor.

How do to wire Halo projections headlights that have two red wires?

The two red wires on Halo projectors are the power source for the product. Splice the two red wires into the appropriate wire source on the engine bay.

Yes, butt splice connectors are rated up to the 600 volt insulation range.

What are the different kind of joints and splicing?

One type of electrical joint is known as a western splice. Another type of mechanical joint is known as a butt splice where a device is installed in series with the wires to be connected and then crimped with a crimping tool. Another type for combining wires together uses a device known as a wire nut.

Can you splice wires in an electrical panel?

yes wires is electrical panel

What is the best way to make an electrical connection in automotive wiring?

You can buy a butt splice kit from the auto parts store, it will consist of different size butt splices and the crimping/stripping pliers. Choose the proper size butt splice, strip a length of insulation off each end of the wire to be joined roughly half the lenght of the butt splice, put the wire in each end of the splice and crimp. Once the connection is made wrap the splice with electrical tape.
