Unlike timing belts, timing chains are very strong and reliable. I have personally seen 4.0s go 340,000 miles with only changing oil, spark plugs, and a water pump. If it needs to be changed then it is most likely a sign of worse engine problems. My suggestion is to buy a service manual as it requires the disassembly of the front of the motor and is easier to understand with pictures.
