Almost all fuel injected vehicles have a fule pump in the fuel tank. Some vehicles may have an auxillary external fuel pump ( Example: Volvo 740). The Fuel pump on a 1994 Chevy S10 is located in the fuel tank.

in a right hand drive car it is under the car on the left and side if you are cutting out when driving change the fuel pump relay first very common on Volvo's.

the fuel filter is located under the car on the driver side about 2/3 of the way back, it is bolted to floor pan next to the primary fuel pump. the fuel pump looks like a coil. There is also an internal fuel pump inside the gas tank in the 1985 Volvo 240, so changing the external one may not fix your problem.
Pull the bottom half of the rear seat out and you can get to the access panels for the pump and the ejector tube.
