First, I am only CERTAIN about the 2005 F-150 2WD model.

Second, this is assuming you know how to take the Calipers and brake pads off of the truck rotors prior.

Third, Before you begin the Manufacturer recommends that you replace the "Spindle Lock Nut". this part is not so readily available at auto zone or advance auto. I had great success with going to NAPA (Part # UP28492). They had four of them in strock. they cost $20 a piece and you'll need 2. [if you dont have a NAPA I suggest ordering the part online and shipped to your front door or going to a Ford Dealer and ordering it (also is $20)]

Fourth, you wont need much but you'll need a tiny bit of bearing grease. although you do not actually handle the bearings, in this case, you still want to put some grease on the smooth part of the spindle once you go to put the new rotor set on.

Fifth, You'll need a 36MM Socket and a Very large (I used a the 4 foot handle to my 8-ton floor Jack but a 4 foot pipe would come in very handy) 1/2 inch Drive Breaker Bar, the largest you can find.

This is actually a very easy task as long as you have the proper tools to do the job. the trickiest part of this task is that the spindle nut has to be replaced and is hard to find. and also that the manual maintains that the spindle nut must be torqued to 295 ft. lbs.

Remove the codder pin and nut cap. then Just simply put the 36mm socket with the breaker bar on the spindle nut and with all your might rotate counter clock-wise (lefty loosy) then the Rotors slide right off once the spindle nut is off, discard the old rotor and spindle nut. place bearing grease on the smooth section of the spindle shaft and place the new rotor set on the spindle and put the new spindle lock nut on the spindle and rotate until snug with a 1/2in ratchet then switch to the breaker bar and pipe. rotate with all your might Clockwise (Right Tighty) to tighten. replace the cotter pin and nut cap.

That is it for the rotors.

I then drove to the local mechanic and had him check the torque on the spindle nuts (this is easy because the wheel doesn't have to come off for them to check). I gave the guy a 20 and left.

Hope This Helps
