Remove the instrument cluster; on the back of the speedo, there is a green circuit board. Almost every soldered item on Hondas and Acuras fail after 10-15 years from thermal expansion and contraction; simply get out your pencil-point size soldering iron and melt each solder joint that you see, adding new solder when necessary. If you were to look at the soldered joints through a microscope, you'd see all the cracks in the solder. The main relay (fuel pump) is notorious for this, and due to the extreme heat behind the dash, where the speedo is, it happens with this as well. Hint: if your cruise control works, it's NOT the speed sensor- it IS the green circuit board external to, and behind the speedo- held on with 4 screws. Trust me...save your money and solder it- it is well worth the experiment if you're not sure- it's easy.
what exactly is wrong?
yes
get a used one and replace the computer chip on the back of your speedometer. you have to pull the whole cluster apart. There are two screws above the radio so you will have to pull that out to to get the cluster out
You cannot repair an O2 sensor. Replace it.
There is no speedometer cable - all is electronic. A speed sensor mounted on transaxle connects to the back of your speedometer cluster, and trasmits that way. It's not mechanical like old cars.
Theres a speedometer sensor on the side of the trani try that
Take it to a Honda Dealer, they will fix it...no charge! Seat belts are mandatory safety items no sense in doing something if the dealer will do it for free.
If turn signals are malfunctioning after a stereo has been stolen on a 1996 Honda Accord then there may be a problem with the wiring. The wiring flows into the same fuse and an open wire can cause the lights to malfunction.
pee on it
Park the truck further away from the Honda.
open the front door and you will see a leaver press and pull and it will open the inside and pull the speed meter out and push the botton on the side and rotate it and it will open
550.00 @ Honda of Annapolis. Having the same problem with my 92 Accord.
