That engine is computer controlled therefore the idle was preset / calibrated from the factory and there is NO adjustment. You need to have the engine scaned with an engine scanner to see what is making it Idle to fast.
Check for vacuum leaks first.
check the ait. on yhe left side of carb..it control's idle.
For non fuel injected models, on the side of the carburetor there is an idle screw. Turning the screw slightly will raise the idle on your Chevy truck.
1500 at first until it kicks down to 850 rpm
vacuum leak?
The idle speed is computer controlled on a LT1 engine. If it is a little high, try checking for vacuum leaks.
it has a low idle. Can also be a vacuum hose leak.
The idle is control by the idle air control motor from outputs from the Engine Control Module.
throttle positioning sensor, egr, idle air control
Carb needs curb idle adjusted or rebuild.
between 500/750 depends on where the idle screw is set
I would check for a vacuum leak first, then the idle solenoid which is located on the side of the intake plenum.
It depends on the year. If you can't get the idle down, check for vacuum leaks. That seems to be a primary cause of high idle, especially for the TBI engines.
