I just got putting a new intake gasket on my 98 5.7 i'm sure it cant be that much different. i would start by unplug all of your wires and unclip them from the wire harness. then start taking things off. alternator, air intake, throttle cables, move the ac compressor out of the way. take out the distributor, ( can cause problems when putting it back in, be sure to label everything right or your timing will be way off and give a bad headache) then unbolt your intake should be 4 bolts on each side, remove one of the valve covers and pull out the intake. get gaskets and sealer, put it all back together
There are 2 of them, And they are underneith the intake manifold. You will have to remove the intake manifold to get to them.
There is 2 of them on that engine and there both underneith the intake manifold. YOU MUST REMOVE THE INTAKE to get to them.
they are located under intake manifold The #1 sensor is located in the front of the engine and the #2 sensor is located in the back of the engine. Remember to replace the intake gaskets once you replace the sensor/s. The total time it took me to pull the intake and locate the bad sensor was about 6 hours. Hope this helps
There is 2 of them and both of them are underneith the intake manifold. You will have to remove the intake to service the knock sensers.

on top of the block. on the left side under the intake manifold.
On a 2004 GMC Sierra with a 5.3 engine, the knock sensor is locatede under the intake manifold. You have to remove the intake to get to them. There is 2 of them, so it might be better to change them both while it is apart.
There are 2 of them and you are not going to belive this, but both of them are underneith the intake manifold. You can't see are get to them until you remove the intake.
