The wire connector has a clip on the side of it, follow it from the wire side onto the unit, it will end just on the sensor side, lift it up slightly while pulling the wire connector back.
the oil pressure sending unit on 1997 and up to 99 wrangler tjs and saharas are right above the oil filter i believe which is located on the left hand side of the block.

How do you change the oil filter sending unit of a 1999 suburban?
Right down by the oil filter.
under the hood
on the passenger side of the engine there is a 5 inch or so black plastic unit near the bottom. All you have to do is unplug the sensor from the back and unscrew the unit. They run about 28 bucks at autozone.
Faulty sending unit.
On top of the divers side of the engine, toward the rear of the engine. Next to the valve cover. There will be a wire running from the wire loom to the sending unit.
Drop the tank pull the sending unit and the pump is in the sending unit to swap u might have to replace the hole sending unit to be able to get the pump
Its not the oil sensor sending unit. More than likely its a bad connection at the temperature sending unit. I have a 95 wrangler that was reading 260 degrees. I had a couple bare wires touching at the temp sending unit. Fixed the wires and all better now. Otherwise its probably the gauge itself.
The temperature sending unit on the 1999 Ford Taurus v6 is on the rear of the engine. It is closer to the driver side about 7 inches down.
Check for power and ground to the sending unit . If you have that then ground the sending unit and see if it works. If the gauge works then the sending unit is defective.
