On top of the divers side of the engine, toward the rear of the engine. Next to the valve cover. There will be a wire running from the wire loom to the sending unit.
In the fuel tank
under the hood
Its not the oil sensor sending unit. More than likely its a bad connection at the temperature sending unit. I have a 95 wrangler that was reading 260 degrees. I had a couple bare wires touching at the temp sending unit. Fixed the wires and all better now. Otherwise its probably the gauge itself.
The sending unit is screwed in the head. Check to make sure the wire is attached and if it is, change the sensor.
right where the oil filter is, its that wire that gives you trouble when you try to replace the filter.
It is in the oil Pan. You will have to drop the oil pan to change it.
Yes. www.autozone.com component location. NEXT TO THE OIL FILTER.
Faulty sending unit.
Attached to the underside of the motor, accessed by removing the oil pan.
Right next to the oil filter, it kinda gets in your way when you are replacing the filter.
If you have the 4.2, it is on the passenger side of the engine near where the dipstick enters the block, forward of the starter.
1997-2206 JEEP TJ Wranglers have the combination fuel pump assembly and fuel gauge sending unit located inside the gas tank. The gas tank needs to be unbolted and removed to access the fuel pump assembly.
