i have a 91 sonoma. For advice it was easiest to unbolt the the flywheel/flexplate cover. this allows you to wiggle the starter towards the front of the truck and then lower it down. ( you do not need to remove the cover; just move it out of the way.
The starter on a 1998 GMC Sonoma is replaced by disconnecting the battery, removing the outer cover, and unbolting it from the engine. The wiring harness can then be disconnected, the starter removed, and a new one put in place.
the starter GMC Yukon?
Where are the freeze plugs located on a 2003 GMC Sonoma 4.3L Vortec engine?

in the fuse box under the hood, driver's side. I have a 1996 GMC Sonoma 2.2 I have about the same question? If anyone can answer for me? Does the starter relay cause the ignition switch to have a delay when starting? Seems I have a 1-2 sec.delay when turning the ignition key seems not right. Is this normal? Also? I have a brand new starter & Battery installed 3 months ago.Now it won't hit a lick.If I turn the ignition key over a few 20 times maybe it will startup. Could it be a starter relay?
