I have a black fossil diamond watch with a black band that needs two extra links can i buy them or a new band thanks Michael
It depends on the watch some are easier than others. The safesty way is to take it to a watch repair store. They have the correct tools to remove the links,
To shorten a fossil watch band, you can usually remove links from the metal bracelet by using a small screwdriver or a specialized watch band tool. Look for the small pins that connect the links and use the tool to push them out in the direction of the arrow. Keep in mind that if you are uncomfortable doing it yourself, it's best to have a professional jeweler or watch technician do it for you.
Take it to a jeweler.............
To remove links from a Breil brand watch, turn the watch to its side and grasp the bracelet in the area of the link to be removed. Insert a 1 mm screwdriver into the slot and push the link off.
Relic watches come with two or three links you can easily remove yourself. Take a look at the band, there should be a few places you can open it. Open all the links that you can (one to two links should come off). If you still need it smaller, you'll need to take it to a Jeweler or a Sears store - they have a tool they use to take off the other links.
If you want to remove a link from a Michael Kors watch on your own what you will need to do is flip it onto it's side. There you will notice that the links are held in place by pins. You will need to use a special tool in order to remove those links. It is always best to take the watch to a professional to do these things.
The watch band can be adjusted by removing some of the links (or adding them back). It's quite easy. If you look on the backs of the links some of them have arrows; these are the only links that can be removed. Using a straightened small paper clip, push one of the pins on the band edge in the direction of the arrow. You should be able to remove it with your fingers once it gets started. Do the same thing with the pin on the other side of the link, and the pin will fall into your hand. Once you have removed the desired number of links -- you should remove them alternating each side of the clasp -- reassemble the band by lining up two links and insert the pins, also in the direction of the arrow. You should feel friction after the pin is almost all the way in. Make sure all the pins are fully seated and you're done.
Hi, If your band is the same as mine this is how you do it. My band has little arrows inside each link. The arrow shows the direction that the pins that hold the links together must be moved in to remove the pins and thus the links. To do this take a thumb tack and locate the end of the pin on the side of the band opposite the side that the arrow points to. You need to push very hard to get the pin to move. Once it does move it will stick out on the side Get some plyers and pull the pin the rest of the way out. Once you remove enough pins and links to get the band sized correctly, push the pin back in so that it is oriented the same as it was before. You will need to force the last bit of the pin in place. To do this I used the flat side of a standard screw driver. I hope this helps
'Tain't easy. The steel pins showing through the links aren't the spring loaded pins found attaching the band to the clasp, they are solid and must be pried off carefully to avoid damaging the parts. Once you have one off the rest will be simple.
Measure how many links need to be removed so the band will be even. Place a small precision screwdriver into the hole in the link. This will cause the pin to move. Pull it out and the link will detach. Push the pin back into the space and it will snap into place.
On the inside of each link there's a small arrow pointing inwards. Where the arrow points to, on the other side of the inside link there's a small button half hidden by the link. Use a safety pin to depress this button and slide it slightly in the direction of the arrow. Then use Pliers to pull out the part that comes out of the bottom of the link. Remove the link completely by sliding it out. After that it's easy to put it back together. I'd suggest doing it on the link next to the clasp because it's easy to detach the clasp for this operation.
