Open trunk lid up, look up at the back of 8' subwoofer there are hole's drilled through deck lid in each corner, inside those hole's you will find screw's, back them out one at a time, then the cover will come off, but be carefull of the third brake light plug!

Begin by removing the cover from your rear speakers. Remove the rear speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speaker. The rear speakers will come out.
from shop manual: remove luggage cover and holder assembly remove speaker cover retainer nut and and screws securing the cover in place over the speaker assembly loosen and remove the speaker retainer screws securing the speaker in place, lift the speaker out enough to access the wire harness at the rear of the assembly disconnect the speaker harness remove the speaker installation is the reverse of removal
You need to remove the rear seat to access the speakers and remove the covers.
rear door-remove the door panel. back speaker carefully pry off grille cover and replace speaker
With a screwdriver
start by removing the mesh over the speaker carefuly so not to damage it, use a flat headed screw driver and gently pry it off. then remove the screws holding in the speaker. your good to go then.
The 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix rear deck speaker covers are held in place by four retaining screws. Remove the retaining screws to remove the covers.
If its a convertable, remove the the screws under the rear seat and remove. Then remove the screws holding the leather enclosures and remove from sill plate. remove the speaker boxes and replace. If you don't have new speaker boxes remove cover a speaker box, access speaker and replace, you will probably have to solder the wires, then reverse the order and put back together.
Remove the cover from your 2001 Kia rear speakers. Remove the rear speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speakers. Reverse the process to install the new rear speakers.
REAR SPEAKER - JR41 Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Fold down the rear seat backs. Remove C-pillar trim. Remove lower quarter trim behind rear seat backs. Remove fasteners from rear shelf trim. Pull out trim to access speaker. Remove speaker screws. Disconnect wire harness connector. Remove speaker (REAR SPEAKER-JR41). REAR SPEAKER - JR27 Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Using a trim stick, pry the speaker grill from the trim panel. Remove speaker mounting screws (REAR SPEAKER - JR27). Remove speaker from trim panel. Disconnect wire harness connector from speaker.
I did this with my 1996 Lumina APV. If you have rear speakers, remove the speaker cover(s), remove the speaker and reach in and find the mechanism, turn it to open. May have to do simultaneously for both sides. Then remove the tailgate panel and repair.
