At the base of the wiper arm, where it fits over the splined hub, you'll see a little metal tab sticking out of the wiper arm base. By gently pulling/prying that tab out with a pair of needle-nose pliers or screwdriver, you'll be sliding out a metal clip that holds the wiper arm assembly securely to the underside hub so it won't otherwise pop off when the wipers are on and torque is being put on them. Once the tab/clip are pulled out to their extent (that's only a fraction of an inch...the tab/clip do not come out from the wiper arm, they just slide out a bit), you can gently pry the whole wiper arm off the splined hub. Be careful, as the splines are very fine and the wiper arm metal is soft. If you force things off and damage the splines in the wiper arm, you'll allow the hub to turn freely within the wiper arm body and the wiper arm won't swing when they're turned on.
