You simply unscrew the antenna rod and replace it. Very easy.

Grounding is accomplished by connecting a heavy cable from the ground side of the antenna to a ground rod. A ground rod is typically a 4 - 8 foot copper plated steel rod driven into the ground as close as possible to the antenna, making the wire connection as short as possible. All equipment should also be grounded to a rod, not just the antenna.
You get the Rod of Irvandis during the In Aid of the Myreque quest, it is used at the almost end part to finish the quest, and yes you do keep it when quest is complete.
> http://www.myfordfocus.com/how-to/antenna.htm < OR; If you're just looking to replace the antenna rod itself - It is just screwed into the base. I have a 02 wagon, and have taken it off a couple of times. You might have to tighten it a bit first to break the seal. then grap it good an unscrew it. It seems to stick, but comes off. Good luck
If you lose a quest item like the taming rod, then all you need to do is abandon the quest and re-take it. You will receive a new one when you re-accept the quest.
There will be some amount of continuity in a k30. There is a coil at the bottom of the antenna base, so the ohm reading will be high, but should still be there.
In case of a lightening strike.
When you find a new rod to replace the broken one, simply click on the broken one and the new one will replace it. (To get the fuel rod , see the related question.)
The average cost to replace a tie rod is approximately $200. You can save about $125 of labor by replacing the tie rod your self.
