The cost to replace the oil pump on a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport ranges from $300 and $500. Replacing the oil pump requires the oil pan to be removed.
just paid 500
You do not fix it you just replace it.
With most winch kits, yes.
Mine needed to be replaced after 10 years $$$$$
My '96 Cherokee Sport does, so I bet a '98 does.
The timing belt is not a belt on a Cherokee sport. It's a chain. It's located under a housing on the crank shaft. In order to replace it you will need to remove the alternator, the water pump, the a/c compressor, the radiator and the engine fans. An experienced mechanic can get it done in about 3 to 6 hours.
Remove the oil pan and you will see the oil pump. Simply replace it.
doesn't have a choke , but has an enrichener valve , remove the bolts that hold the valve ,take it out unplug & replace ,can be found near throttle body .
