After my 1995 Montero turned 150,000 miles the
paps, try 3280 monterosport code for 4x2 glsv 2012 year model or up.
I changed the battery and voila' - no more light.
disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes, if it comes back on after you drive the computer is getting an error code from the engine check the codes to see whats causing it
Read your owner's manual.
Look at the upper end of the brake pedal under dash area
After repairing the cause of the code, you clear the code with a scan tool.
we just call manufacture and gave em vin numbers they gave us the code
disconect the batery cable for 10 minutes, if that don't work take it to the dealer
Since he was asking how to reset it on the ATV outlander not the Mitsubishi outlander, I'll improve the answer. You cannot, you have to take it to the dealer to have them reset it. There are no tricks or aftermarket kits that will reset Can-Am messages. if you do your own maintenance you can wither ignore the light, or show them proof of maintaining it, and take it in to have them reset it.
HeyKen==You need to repair what turned it on in the first place then have auto zone remove the trouble codes. GoodluckJoe
If it is the same as my 95 LS then drive to a clear parking lot, fully depress, then release the "S" reset button (you may need to use a ballpoint pen) on the front of the compass and drive slowly in a clockwise circle 3 times. That should reset it.
