Mark the TDC line on the harmonic balancer with whiteout or white chalk. Hook up the timing light to the #1 cylinder spark plug wire (closest to radiator on drivers side). Start engine and spin distributor until the mark moves to 8 degrees before TDC. This is the factory timing.
