As for southeast Arabia, of which the modern UAE is a part, Islam was spread by wars initiated by the Muslims after the fall of Mecca in 630 C.E. The Arabs of the Southeast, which had previously sided with the Meccan Qoreish Tribe (the main opponents of the Muslims in the 620s) quickly capitulated after Qoreish's defeat. These tribes converted almost immediately. Those who did not convert were exiled from Arabia by Caliph Omar in fulfillment of Mohammed's wish that there be only one religion in Arabia.
