How was the Arabia region before Muhammad mission?

Before the prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) was born and the Quran revealed to him (at the age of 40) the Arabs were very backward minded. Each individual could have had upto one god each. Where the Ka'Ba lies now (the place where Muslims go to pilgrimage (i.e the big black cube) was filled with idols. These idols ranged from small rocks to large ones and even plants etc... when the prophet (PBUH) revealed what was revealed unto him he told the people of Mecca the truth and that God was only one and that he was the final messenger and that the Qu'ran was the final complete revelation from God.

At first the Meccans would not stand for it at all and his presence was not welcome at this community. Although Muhammad (PBUH: Peace be upon him) was a very honest and sound minded individual in terms of trade and business sense, he was actually illiterate meaning he could not read or write. So when this individual came to the people and revealed this beautiful and accurate revelation from his own mouth, (God imprinted the whole Qu'ran verse by verse in his mind) the people were shocked, dumbfounded and stunned as to how this illiterate man could reveal something which went against their values.

As a result the Prophet (PBUH) left Mecca for Madina; the people here welcomed him with open arms and listened to his wise words.

To cut a long story short, 100 years after the prophets death (PBUH) Islam had spread all the way from eastern Europe all the way to western Africa)

Nowadays Islam is the most perfect religion factually speaking (every religion besides Islam contradicts itself somewhere among its own verses. To this day Islam is the only religion which Science works along with rather than against. Not a single word can be disproved by modern science and as science has improved, the Qu'ran reveals further more miracles which seemed irrelevent at the time but as a result of scientific improvements, we can see that the Qu'ran was right all along and it was just a matter of time until science could verify it.

Islam is now the fastest growing religion in the world and is also the second largest religion.

People were living in a very primitive way of life as Bedouins. They were mostly illiterate and raising wars for very trivial reasons.

At Muhammads time it was chaos. Let me split it up into 3 categories

Science:

Was often neglected

They believed that the mountains held up the sky

They believed the world was flat (and the common misconceptions)

Only a few knew how to read and right

Women:

If a women was born she would be buried alive, or the family lives in shame

She was her husbands 'property' thus she can be inherited by his (and her) sons

She had no rights to own property

Society:

Bloodshed and war was common and widespread

High interest rate and corruptions

Worship the ideals they created

People used to get marry at the end of puberty

The Prophet came out and reversed those accepted conceptions

Arabia was very factional and disunited before Muhammad was born. It was ruled in different areas b different tribal clans.
