The American colonists got along with the Native Americans ok because the natives ended up being friendly with John Rolfe (married to Pochahantas) because they taught the colonists how to plant their crops and tabacco.
Not very well - there is very little of the British Empire left today because everybody wanted independance and their freedom, they fought the British for that freedon and eventually got it. The British sent their criminals and religious outcasts to the colonies. In addition, some people voluntarily came. The residents here were taxed and worked and sent a few items of goods like tea which could not be produced in the colonies. However, most commerce was the opposite direction since the colonies provided endless Natural Resources for manufacturing interests in England. Consequently, when Brittain continued this arrangement and ignored requests from its citizens living in the colonies for a better arrangement - the relationship broke down entirely.
They didn't. The Native Americans felt that their land was being taken over and that the "pale face' would bring nothing but disease. Which is true. The early colonists did not trust the "red skins" because they were apprehensive enough about being in a different land. Meeting the people was almost too much. They tolerated each other enough to learn and tried to work towards peace. But we see how that turned out.
On the whole, Native Americans and European colonists got along badly and fought many wars, and much resentment lingers to this day.
The Native Americans were allies with the French. The colonists and natives were a little rocky, but got along enough to not kill eachother.

Native Americans
A majority of the colonies didn't get along with the Natives at all, usually disputing land boundaries and resources. The conflict with Native Americans and the newborn American Nation continued on even after the colonists gained their independence from Britain, carrying on through the War of 1812.
Not all mounds built by Native Americans contain human remains.
