Not "soaked" at all.
A gentle drizzle of fluid over the coals should be enough to ensure that they light.
If they are soaked they'll burn up too quickly, and the food will probably smell of the fluid.

Barbecue charcoal briquettes? If so, there are a few factors. Some briquette companies employ binding agents. Historically, they used glues that were not safe to inhale. While I don't think that they do that anymore, "self-lighting" charcoal is soaked in lighter fluid so as to make them easier to light. This fluid's vapors aren't good for you, either. Then there are things like "coal dust is bad for you!" and "do not touch the lit coals!" that are a little more obvious.
A urine soaked mattress is bad. You should probably wash the mattress.

All reeds need to be soaked to soften them before playing. This allows them to vibrate as you play. A hard, dry reed will crack rather than vibrate. Single reeds for instruments such as clarinet & saxophone are soaked by sucking them before placing them on the instruments. Double reeds for Oboe, Cor Anglais & Bassoon need to be soaked in water due to the different shape of the reed. Sucking them in the mouth does not soak the entire reed.
Put them in hot tap water for about 20 minutes. The heat from the water will allow the sticks to absorb the water quicker.
Reishi mushrooms are a rare fungus that are reputed to have many health benefits including boosting the immune system. Before use, they should be soaked overnight. They can be grilled and served as a side dish, they can be used in soup or they can be served as reishi tea. They should, again, be soaked overnight, then remover the mushrooms, strain the liquid and boil for about 10 minutes and then drink.
You will be soaked at the end of it all. I've never actually been in a snowball fight nor seen snow. But I had friends who have seen snow before and they told me that you get really soaked at the end.
