It is on the top of the rear axle. You remove the nut that holds the brake line, remove the hold down bolt, and pull sensor out.
trying to replace rear pinion bearings 1993 ford aerostar, 7.5 rear differential...slinger washer on drive shaft side is stuck, cant get pinion shaft out, all differential parts have been removed...any suggestions?
The Differential Speed Sensor that is mounted on the top/front of the rear differential. Spray it with some wd40 before trying to remove the retaining bolt and then pry it out.
if you cant figure it out you shouldn't be trying to replace it
I am trying to put CV joint into differential and i need to know how to make sure it is in.
trying to replace crank position sensor but i have no ideal where to look it is 1993 infinity G20 could you help me find this sensor
Without knowing what sensors you are trying to replace, there is no answer. Please re ask question about a specific sensor.
What sensor are you trying to replace? More 411 required to anwer/help you...
On my 1999 Durango 4X4 with rear antilock brakes, the sensor for the antilock brakes, the speedometer, and the automatic door locks, is located on the rear differential. It's a magnetic sensor that has a retaining device, and slides into the top of the differential case. Getting the old one loose was challenging. The replacement went in pretty easily. Unplug the wire, remove the retaining hardware, pull or pry the old sensor out, put the new one in, replace the retaining hardware, and plug it back in. This instantly restored operation of the speedometer, and cleared the antilock brake fault. I didn't have to disconnect the battery to accomplish this, though for best safety to the computer, this would probably be a good idea. Also, supporting the truck with jack stands on the frame, so the differential is hanging off the the springs, greatly improves access to the area of the differential you're trying to get to. Even better is to get it up high enough to sit/stand under the truck.
The sensor may be gear driven direct off the axle. No belt or chain.
The Intake Air Temp sensor is integral to the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF). It cannot be replaced seperately. The MAF sensor would need to be replaced if you are trying to replace the IAT sensor. - TechJK -----------------------------------
Replace brake pads Thank you Captain Obvious. Can we get a real answer now? I replaced my brake pads and sensor is still lit. Trying to avoid disconnecting my battery.
