I've had a cold for four weeks with lots of coughing. Now have a pain in my left to middle part of back. What could this be from?

You should see your family doctor. Four weeks is a long time to have a cold with a cough. You could have pneumonia.

Todays date is May 17th 2011. I've had my flu shots and when I saw the doctor about this cold I thought I had (3 weeks now) I was told it's a virus. And that it is spreading around the U.S. like crazy. I have friends in Alaska with it. First it's a sore throat, then coughing with Flem (called productive coughing), some puking for others (not me yet), night sweats, then back to coughing extremely (unproductive dry coughing) and headaches......that's where I'm at right now. My doctor said it takes 2 to 8 weeks for full recovery. Good luck. I hope that helps.
