It's usually the cable or the speedometer head in the dash that have problems
Is it possible to lubricate the where the cable and the speedometer head cluster meet? If so, how do you get into the head or cluster?
The chirping is probably the Speedometer cable. Unless it a manual tranny, than it could be a throw out bearing. If the chirping get faster with your speed it's the speedo cable.
kia makes sportage and geo makes tracker
cable could be loose or faulty speedo..
sounds like the cable is bad just take it to the shop and have it replaced you will love this answer because i have had the same thing that is going on with my geo. one when they go to check your breaks they can adjust the cable. and that does not to it then you will have to live with the noise. if the adjustment does not do it then you will have to deal with the sound, got that answer from the make rs of geo trackers firestone can adjust it
did you have the cv joints checked?
