Park your vehicle somewhere quiet and have someone, sitting in the Driver's seat, turn they key in the ingition to one click / position before the point when you engage the starter. You will hear a humming sound, for about 1-2 seconds, that your fuel pump makes as it is pressurizing the fuel delivery line. Have them do this several times until you can pinpoint, by walking, poking, proding your head and ears around inside or outside the car, the source of the noise. That is unless your fuel pump is currently inoperative. This method would be futile in such case. At least this is a start. KrispyKreemD
The transmission filter is located under the transmission on a 2002 Hyundai Sonata. it is under the transmission drain pan.

The Hyundai Sonata's transmission range sensor is located directly below the vehicle's oil filter. It is located near the range switch.
The 2003 Elantra does not have a transmission filter.
The transmission on a 2002 Hyundai will have a drain bolt located underneath it. Loosen the bolt and drain the old fluid into a pan. Once done use Hyundai recommended transmission fluid and pour it in.

The starter of a 2004 Hyundai Sonata is bolted to the transmission bell housing. You will see the starter on the off to the side of the engine.
Per my local Hyundai Shop this model does not have a serviceable filter, therefore you only drain and fill this transsmission.
Trans filter is located near the air box on top of the transmission. It looks like an oil filter.
Its located under the air filter box almost under the battery.
The standard / manual transmissions don't have a dipstick like the automatics do . The standard transmission fluid level is checked underneath the vehicle at the transmission fluid fill plug
located inside on Brake Pedal about 2/3 of the way to top. takes 14mm, and small screwdriver to push tab in to release connector.
If equipped with standard transmission, it will be on the clutch pedal. If an automatic it will be incorporated into the transmission switch on the transmission.
