I need To change the alternator in my 98 Pontiac transport but there is no room to get to it any suggestions?

just replaced one on mine same year first thing to do is unbolt the front motor supports then the bottom ones on each side roll the engine forward and it will come out.Good Luck.

There are a few posts as to the answer to this question. You need to remove the serpentine belt from the alternator, unplug the electrical connections from the back, remove the mounting bolts, and install the new alternator. Hope this heps.
