The engine will turn over , but either run poorly or not at all
No, the firing order is wrong, you'll have to redo it Again there is no mention of which engine you are referring to. So go here: http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-ford-firing-85.htm Pick the correct engine and you will see the correct plug wire routing.
The firing order on a D16y8 engine is 1-3-4-2. Most four cylinder Honda engines follow the same firing order. If it is off by one the car will fail to turn over.
If it has a Continental F163 engine, it's 1-3-4-2. Most four cylinder engines use that firing order. Remove the spark plugs and turn the engine over, feeling for the compression stroke on each cylinder, and you can determine the firing order on anything.
Engine rotation is determined by sitting in the driver's seat. But engine rotation is of no consequence when determine firing order. It is the rotation of the rotor in the distributor that is important. That is easily found by removing the distributor cap and bumping the engine over and looking at the rotor. Does it rotate clockwise or counter clockwise?
what is wrong when the truck just turn over and want start.
1 - 3 - 4 - 2 The firing order is on the intake manifold, looking over the passenger side fender.
1998 Town Car should be 4.6 with coil over plug, why would you need firing order?
For the Ford 4.0 liter V6 engine ( Over Head Valve and Single Over Head Cam versions ) The firing order is ( 1 - 4 - 2 - 5 - 3 - 6 ) The engine cylinder locations are numbered : firewall 3 - 6 2 - 5 1 - 4 front of vehicle The coil pack towers are numbered : coil-----3 - 4 pack----2 - 6 plug-----1 - 5
The spark plug firing order is ( 1 - 3 - 4 - 2 ) The engine cylinders are numbered , front to rear , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 The TOWERS on the COIL PACKS are numbered : ( 3 - 1 ) ( 2 - 4 )----spark plug wires to passenger side of engine ( exhaust ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ( 4 - 2 ) (1 - 3 )---spark plug wires cross over top of engine to drivers side ( intake ) FRONT OF ENGINE
Let it set for about 2 hours or push the accelerator pedal to the floor and hold it there while turning the engine over. Rarely do fuel injected engines flood. If they do then something is wrong with the firing system.
The spark plug firing order is ( 1 - 3 - 4 - 2 ) The engine cylinders are numbered , front to rear , 1 through 4 The COIL PACK TOWERS are numbered : ( 3 - 1 ) ( 2 - 4 )---passenger side ( exhaust ) ---------------------------------------------------- ( 4 - 2 ) ( 1 - 3 )---spark plug wires cross over top of engine to drivers side ( intake ) FRONT OF ENGINE
1-3-4-2 Rotor turns clockwise. You can easily find this out on any engine by removing the distributor cap and turning the engine over while observing the rotation of the rotor.
