you need to find the bleeding screw that is located on or by the thermostat housing.you'l know that is a bleeding screw/valve because the bolt is not holding anything down. you'll turn it with the car off. you will see a pin size hole on it. turn on your car and when coolant start to flow out of it you have succesfully taken out the air from the cooling system.

answer the coolant system bleeder is generally on water pump the bleeder looks same as a brake bleeder and works in exactly same way

Where is the PCV valve located on a 2002 Ford F-150 4.2L V6 was told that there is'nt one?

I was told the same thing....There IS a pcv valve and it can only be purchased from the dealer. Go to the normal spot for a pcv valve (passenger side valve cover near the firewall) There will be a hose connected there, follow that hose to where it connects at the other end. That is the pcv valve. it also has two smaller coolant lines attached and is held in with two screws.

What happens when you use the wrong coolant. I have a Saturn 01 and I was told I need to use DEX coolant. The green coolant was put in with out cleaning it out. How long can I drive my car?

It isn't going to permanently damage it as long as you replace it with the proper coolant. NAPA makes an all types and models coolant that is compatible with Dex-Cool. Dex-cool just has additional lubricants in it that are designed for that system. If you use regular coolant the seals in the cooling system can break down much faster and cause leaks.

Coolant leak on your 2001 catera.?

It likely is the heater control valve on the back of the engine. It is a poor design and I have replaced it twice in 110K miles. The cost at the dealer is $290 to replace. The Saab has the same poor design I am told by the Dealer.

What is making your 1990 BMW 735i overheat new t-stat and fan clutch from BMW?

make sure the system is bleed out you can do this if u have a radiator cap with pressure relieve valve just let the car get to operating temp and release the valve if it is sputtering out coolant and steam it is not properly bled and after it has cool down. pour more coolant and repeat till you get constant coolant running out. and if you don't have a pressure relief radiator cap their should be a bleeder screw on the thermostat housing and you would do the same the above. and if that doesn't work that mean that the passages inside the engine could be blocked take garden hose pour water from the top radiator hose (disconnect from the bottom too ) and pour water till it is comin out clear and do it vese-verse and make sure temp senor and Temp swicth are good i told you what i know so be care full

Why don't I have heat in my VW Golf?

if you told us what year and engine, maybe we could help you. If it's an older model with a heater core, check to make sure the hoses are not blocked and the cable operating the heater valve is still good. Maybe do a coolant flush.

Why a 1996 explorer automatic transmission slips before shift into third?

It is a common failure in this vehicle. In my case the mechanic changed the disc and gasket kit, charged $400 but the failure is still there. Another mechanics told me that there are two possible causes: the pressure regulator or the solenoid valve . The pressure can be read in the scanner. the solenoid valve needs to be changed all the valves set with a cost about $200. Try with this first.

2000 S10 makes gurgling noise from dash when first moving after being parked for a while?

I had this problem on my 1996 Blazer and thought that it was a clogged AC drain... it isn't. My mechanic told me that there is a leak in my coolant system and he put in some type of liquid leak stopper and told me to keep an eye on the coolant level both in the overflow container and in the rediator itself. It hasn't completely solved the problem, but it seems to have gotten better.

What is the tire pressure for a Honda xr 250?

I don't have a manual for my 04' XR 250, but when I took it by a motorcycle mechanic recently for a tire stem valve problem, he told me 10 to 15 lbs is good pressure for trail riding. 10 lbs is what he filled it to, and it seemed sufficient for our day of riding that followed.

Why don't you have any compression?

i was told that the decompression lever on the valve needs tob set but i don't know how. does the timing need to be set with the intake valve
