I remove my stereo from my GMC Truck and now my lights don't work
just so you know when i put a new stereo in my aerostar i had to run new wires to the stereo speakers because the stock stereo had a common ground so one ground for two speakers i damn near fried the deck figuring that out hopefuly you wont.
Try the,Install Doctors at www.installdr.com. Good site for finding stereo wiring diagrams. Hope this helps. Good luck
I'm not sure if this is the same but the ground wire going to the stereo is not really ground! Try running the hot wires for your new stereo right to the fuse box or straight to the bat and see if that cures it. I had a problem that was very similar but it wasn't a Tacoma.
According to my book, it should be a light green with yellow (probably a yellow stripe)on it.
If you replace the factory stereo and the van has a factory equalizer, you will need to remove the equalizer as well. The factory stereo/equalizer package is essentially one unit in two different cases. Neither is designed to work without the other. Best of my knowledge, neither will work without the other.
Check to see if the Neon stereo lights come on. If the radio lights up then there could be an internal problem or a problem with an external amplifier.
Did you recently change or install something in your car like a stereo or GPS?
Turn the dimmer switch up. Just kidding I'm sure you looked for that.
a bad fuse of a faulty switch.
Check your fuses as this is very common when an after market stereo is installed.
It happened to my Buick after I put in Stereo. The insulation was off one of the stereo wires causing a short which killed my dash lights. The stereo worked. My dash lights didn't.Check your radio wires and make sure its not grounding out.
