Bad battery, Parasitic drain.
A new battery or one that tested good is in the vehicle and the car is still losing power. the alternator is what charges the battery while the vehicle is operating.
Try the cables from your battery and alt. Sometimes these can corrode.
Sometimes an alternator with a weak diode(s)can test out fine, but can still trigger the light. I believe the problem is in your alternator. Good luck.
If the alternator is good then the battery is bad.
Start the truck then disconnect the battery if it's still running the alternator is good
It may be the battery, if the car is running the alternator should still be good. The battery may not be holding charge and supplying your car with reserve power. I would take you car to the autoparts store and have them test the electrical system. They will do this for free and tell you if the alternator and or battery is bad.
Yes. an alternator can be good but you can still have charging problems if:- 1.Battery is no good. 2.Fan belt slack or worn. 3.Poor or broken wiring connections at alternator. 4.Loose or dirty battery conections. 5.poor or broken wiring between alternator and battery. 6.Alternator rating not large enough for application.
It can happen. The bearings on the alternator of my Silverado did that once, and it ended up causing the vehicle to shut down. the alternator on your car charges the battery which in turn runs the electrical supply to the car. if your alternator is damaged the battery will deliver power to the eletrical system until it no longer can and the car will stop running.if i were you i would replace the alternator, recharge the battery if it is still good and then happy motoring.
The easiest of all ways to check if your alternator is working is. Turn your car on and disconnect the negative battery cable. If your car dies your alternator is no good. But if it stays on. the alternator is generating power. its basically your cars power plant.
The alternator doesn't care. It provides power no matter if the battery is good, weak, or not even there.
Check for a bad fusable link at alternator
Not enough power to starter, jump it and then ensure alternator is good. Also check battery condition.
