If you replaced the thermostat but the heater does not work and the air conditioner fan keeps working although not in use what could be wrong?
Try taking the car in for a rad flush. You may have a restriction. Check also that the hoses are not kinked, block heater and rad.
I have a 2000 zx2 and it has a thermostat, if that is your question. Having said that, my heater quit working and it turned out to be the cable came loose under the dash on the left side of the radio. At first I thought it was the thermostat but was wrong. Duct taped the cable in place and the control and heater started working fine again.
If the engine is taking a long time to warm up or the gauge registers low heat the thermostat probably is stuck open and needs to be replaced. If the engine runs hot check the temperature of the upper radiator hose. If it's not hot the thermostat is stuck closed and should be replaced. If the upper hose is hot it means the thermostat is open and working. Cooling problem could be restricted radiator.
If you have replaced the water pump thermostat and heater core and ran water through the radiator but it is still overheating Should you have the radiator pressure tested?
You have 1990 Ford Aerostar 30L is overheating we had the thermostat replaced recently and it was working fine for a day now it is overheating again Also the heater is not producing any hot air?
I see this happen a lot. The thermostat is turned down way to low (60 degrees or lower) causing ice to build up on the air conditioners condenser coils. Which causes the air not to get through the coils. The icing of the condenser creates a blockage and the air conditioner doesn't cool the house or room. Making you think it is not working. If not corrected the compressor will overheat. (Not Good). Turn the…
it should be replaced when it stops doing its job controlling the temperature and replacing the battery does not solve the problem or it is showing a digital error code that tells you it is defective. You may also want to test if it actually is doing its job but the heating or cooling unit may be broken. If you have more than one zone and you know what you are doing, you can switch…
1995 s-10 blazer you replaced the radiator and the heater hose was leaking so you replaced it and it is still overheating?
Is the cars heater going from hot to cold a sign of a blown head casket replaced thermostat and water pump had it working good for a day then same thing happened or could this be faulty new thermostat?
What other reasons are there for a motor to get hot if you have replaced the thermostat and radiator cap?
I had the thermostat radiator cap and radiator replaced on a 2001 Mitsubishi galant and it still overheats sitting at idle and while driving Any ideas on what the problem is?
If you replaced the furnace and thermostat this past winter, and now the A/C doesn't work. You probably just have a loose control wire. Check the yellow wire at the stat. It should be on the Y terminal. Next, look inside the furnace at the terminal block. The condenser wire should have two conductors. One hooks up with the yellow wire on the Y terminal of the terminal block. The other hooks to the C…
What is wrong if an Explorer 2000 XLT reads really hot and the radiator and hoses are really hot but the radiator is full?
Yes your thermostat is working if it is drawing coolant after about ten minutes. It depends on the size of your motor to determine how long it should take to hit the right temp for the thermostat to open up so it can send coolant through the system. If it starts within ten minutes your thermostat is working fine
A thermostat can stick occasionally or fail altoghether so the symptoms can be different, depending on what the thermostat is doing. Sometimes they stick until the temperature goes to an extreme. When that happens, the engine can get very cold and/or very hot before the thermostat opens or closes, then suddenly the temperature will change within just a few seconds. If the thermostat is just plain stuck or stops working altoghether, the engine will either…
