If you thought you cosigned for a auto loan for a friend and found out 6 months later the dealer made you the main buyer what can you do about it as the friend has the auto and is avoiding me?

If what you say is true, FRAUD has been committed against you, either by the dealr or your friend. Contact the lender and report this as well as the police and report this crime because as of right now you are held legally responsible for that vehicle. : Thank you Bob811. Yes my wife was supposed to be the cosigner for the friend last Nov. Friend is now late on the last payment and all the paperwork like renew reg. Property tax bills in my wife's name have been coming to us. So now we have been looking into it and found out that my wife was the owner of the auto with noboby else on the title (which turns out to give us more rights).. That means the dealer or friend tricked my wife into signing to be the owner. How can they get away with that?. Now we cannot find the friend and it looks like we have to pay the loan and the friend has the car. What can we do about this? : Thank you.
