Hey Bill==It is probably the idle speed solonoid. Have it checked out. GoodluckJOe
How do I hotwire a ford probe 94
Remove the intake and exhaust manifolds. Remove the head. Torque the head and manifolds to the correct torque and sequence, you will need a repair manual for this.
need to replace the fast idle valve. they are only located a the dealership.... good luck need to replace the fast idle valve. they are only located a the dealership.... good luck
The idle speed is computer controlled. You need to scan the pcm for faults, read it sensor data, and decipher why the idle is incorrect to repair.
The 1996 Ford Probe SE that has a rough idle can be fixed by locating the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor and replacing any damaged wires. The EFI or Electronic Fuel Injector can also be the problem. The engines of today no longer have an adjustment screw to turn to set the idle.
Could be in need of a tune up Could have a vacuum leak
Thermostat locationI own a '91 Probe GL, which is 4 cylinders, and the thermostat is located in the housing which is at the engine end of the radiator hose coming from the top side of the radiator. Just look for that main hose, and follow it to the cylinder head. The thermostat should be in that housing. -ShaunThe thermostat is located on the right side of the engine looking in, in between the intake manifold and the air filter box, underneath the wiring. This is in a 1994 Ford Probe GT 6 cylinder. To replace the thermostat, you really need to remove the intake manifold and this can be up to two or three hours work alone, even for a qualified mechanic.
YOU NEED 12MM 12 POINT 3/8 DRIVE DEEP IMPACT SOCKET. NAPA HAS THE SET YOU NEED
not in the state of new york
You cannot. As it is EFI, therefore controlled electronically, you would need to plug it into a diagnostic computer to access the idle speeds etc.
What work needs done? You will need a good set of metric tools, and the rest depends on what is wrong with the engine.
Depends on if (and how may tmes) the cylinder has been bored.
My 2000 V6 Sonata shakes while at idle also. I discovered I need an oxegen sensor and more importantly an "Idle Air Control Valve". 239.00 is the average and hard to find. .
either caliper is seized up and stuck to the rotar or the bearings need to be replaced!
maybe you need a new head gasket?
Overall idle cannot be adjusted mechanically because Camry uses electronic fuel management. If your idle is irregular or very low, you need to check the air filter whether it's plugged, idle control valve (use throttle body cleaner), throttle position sensor and EGR valve (you might have to clean it too). PS: before to start check ECU codes.
go here www.performaceprobe.com you'll find all you need to know there.
You need to replace the EGR valve. Make sure to replace the plugs too after that.
my husband is trying to replace the master cylinder on a 1994 grand am. he was wondering on how to align the gears for the abs.
You will need to remove the cylinder head from your 1994 Chevy. Remove the head gasket and clean the surface. Put the new head gasket on and put the cylinder head back to its original position.
you would need to get a new ecu that will go to the motor you are putting in, then also get the new wiring harness. make sure you map out the angle of the engine to get the max of horsepower and gas milage.
Probably due to old/worn-out engine mounts, bushes and that kind of thing. If these are OK, you need to get the engine checked.
For the 2.0 4 cylinder it should be 9-13 psi, with a minimum of 13 psi deadhead pressure. With the 2.8 liter 6 cylinder it should be 5.5 to 6.5 psi at idle, there is no deadhead specification. Deadhead pressure is pressure at idle with the return line pinched off.
The 1994 Jeep Wrangler came equipped in 2.5L 4-cylinder and 3.0L 6-cylinder options. The 2.5L can use API rated 0W30, 5W30, and 10W30 all-season.
More than likely you need to replace the Mass Airflow Sensor also.
