the firing order on a 1990 Ford 351 windsor is *1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8* number one cylinder is front left looking from front of vehicle and distributor spins counterclockwise ,, if the distributor has been pulled and restabbed but motor never moved without dist it wont be bad but if u cranked it while dist out then u gotta go text book, set and pull number one cylnder and align to tdc ,, set to front passenger side (#1) cylinder and stab from there ,, it might take a while but it can be done ,,, GOOD LUCK ---JAMES

there are two kinds of timing marks. one is for ignition timing and one for valve timing.
The ignition lock is where you put the key. The ignition switch is located on the top of the steering column directly above the brake pedal.

there might two one is under the dash and the other is on the distruber(sp)
ignition timing is electronic. follow the procedure in the repair manual for installing the distributor. Jeep does not have a base timing position.
