im 17, and my girlfriend is 16 and we both need to escape the lives that we are living and she keeps bringing up the fact that we could get our own place, run away and be independent... i think this would be an unrealistic solution to our problems. we are both still in school and are trying to get a job as it is. i live in Ontario and id imagine the cheapest 1 bedroom appartment would be around $800 - $1200CAD (a month). if we were to acually do this we would be able to pull it off, but at the same time we would be dropping out of school to keep up with rent and utilities, and food. and school is something we both need to be successful in life, if we don't get our high school the getting one of these cheap 1 bedroom appartments is most likely the pinacle of our lives together. so im looking for the same advice as you are, but at the same time i hope i brought light to some disadvantages of living on your own being this young.
i don't know the prices of some of the places in Ohio but, you probably want to do this to escape your parents, play some loud music, and have your friends over all the time without any consequences right? wrong.. the teens that are forced to do this are under cercumstances where they really don't have anywhere to go, they have too much pride to live in a group home with probably more structure then they are already living in at home, its to release yourself from structure, but what we would find is more structure than ever, its a hard work world, and you would soon find out that you wouldn't be turning your music down, you would be turning it off. and your friends would come over and raid your fridge, eat all your food and smoke all your cigarettes, then when its all gone, they go home to comfort and free resources. all these worries just to keep up with the bills
anyways if there are any opinions relating to this topic, or if someone would like to prove me wrong. please post, im sure many other teens are looking for the same answers all over the world.

Im a able to move out at the age 16 and older?Answerso you have many different options at age 16. You can go into foster care if your not welcome at home. there they can help you build up to living on your own. Legally at age 16, she cant get the cops to get you, because your not considered missing at that age. Your allowed living on your own. Im 15, and ive been looking into it. Im in care right now, and im building up to being on my own.
i don't live in Ohio im not a redneck
AnswerThat's write you shouldn't live on your own because there are lots of bad people out there but you firstly go collage so you can meet someone and get a job.

You have to be 18 to move out and live on your own legally. If its okay with your parents, you can go to court, and legally become an adult at 16 or 17 depending on where you live.
not that im an expert but you can live anywhere, with a parents OK

If the age of consent where you live is 16 he's fine but if it's older he can be charged.
Technically you are not an adult yet in Michigan. Until you turn 18, you live where your parents determine is best.
