The legal age in GA. is 18. If the girl's parents objected they file charges with DCFS or a like state agency. It then might be possible that the adult of the household could be charged with contributing to the deliquency of a minor (or something similar.)
On the positive side; if the relationship between the 17 year old is not in shape for her to live at home, she could still move to the boyfriend's; IF the mother agreed to it. It would be wise to get a legal piece of paper, such as a written out agreement to the living arrangements signed by an attorney.
