The United States was given all of the land of the 13 colonies and west to the Mississippi River. This did not include French and Spanish settlements and forts along the Gulf Coast. The northern boundary was the Great Lakes.

All French territory on the mainland of North America was lost. The British received Quebec and the Ohio Valley. The port of New Orleans and the Louisiana Territory west of the Mississippi were given to Spain.
