Look on top of the intake manifold for the firing order. Then make sure they are in the right order at the distributor.
The 2000 Dodge Durango 5.9L distributor spark plug wire firing order is 1, 8, 4, 3, 6, 5, 7, 2. The number one cylinder is at the front of the engine on the left side. The distributor rotates clockwise.
The firing order should be 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.
1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 clockwise, and conveniently stamped on the intake manifold.
Clockwise
A 2003 Dodge motor will fit in a 2002 Dodge Durango. The motor mounts may need to be changed, in order for the engine to sit correctly.
