The Hindu women are not living in Afghanistan, neither are they required to veil their faces. The Taliban forced the Muslim women to wear Burqas, covering their faces. This happened in the early 1990s, 1991 or 1992. The Taliban who control parts of Pakistan are operating in parts without a Hindu minority, so it is not applicable there either.

Did the Taliban control all of Afghanistan?

No.They didn't.Well, not ALL of it. (I know this because I'm a 9 year old girl from Afghanistan.) The Northern Alliance, a group of warlords and sheikhs that controlled the country prior to the Taliban held some of the rural areas in northeastern Afghanistan (10% of the country) throughout the 1990s and up to the American Invasion. However, the Taliban controlled all major urban centers in Afghanistan and were the dominant political force in Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001.

Why are the Taliban so hard to beat?

You cant beat the Taliban because they are a hard core, battle hardened and a highly motivated force. The other reasons that help in their victory are the geographical conditions, their tribal structure and their love of war. Add to this their religious zeal, steadfastness and fearlessness and what you get is a deadly cocktail of a lethal guerilla force.

Do taliban have any power or influence in today's Afghanistan?

The Taleban have considerable influenvce in todays afghansistan, mainly through brute force evidenced in the very recent November Kabul attacks which highlight the continued presence and instabilty in the state. Culturally it is hard to say whether the Taliban truly reflect the views of the people ( personally i think conservatism does not mean extremism) but as it is a religious, patriachial and conservative society the Taliban may have more influence over the people than the NATO forces.

Is the Taliban an anti-colonial force?

This is a grey area. You could make a convincing argument to either support "Yes" or "No", depending on what aspects of the Taliban you choose to highlight. If you focus on the Taliban's fights against the Soviet and American invasions, you could claim that the Taliban was anti-colonial. If you focus on the way that the Taliban ruled, by implementing a very strict reading of Shari'a Law, the Taliban are more easily viewed as a Reactionary local movement responding to the Westernization attempts of previous Afghan monarchies -- not colonizers.

Why is the war in Afghanistan is going on so long?

As the Taliban are not easy to eliminate, coupled with inefficient Afghan government / Internal Security Force which is akin to US puppet followed by some of the citizens are uneducated such that they supports Taliban, the whole operation is a failure, despite they have successfully removed Taliban government. Well, Taliban right now uses guerrilla warfare, such kind of hit and run warfare was also used in China's civil war, Vietnam war & Korean war by the communist and they have the victory instead.

Are Hindu gods dead?

Yes they do.Hinduism is based on Brahmajnana, a knowledge that is independent of time, place and person. The seven basic Hindu gods are seven forces within us.THE SEVEN BASIC HINDU GODS:They are,1. Dreaming force - Indra2. Illusory force - Shakti3. Creative force - Brahma4. Stabilizing force - Vishnu5. Determination force - Shiva6. Status increasing force - Shani7. Compulsive force - YamaThese seven gods are nothing but seven centers of gravity in our skeletal muscular system, that move automatically or at our command. Thus, Hindu gods are directly compatible with science. Thus, Hindu gods would be alive as long as the human race is there on earth.
