I had the same problem with my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The problem is in the tail light assembly grounding prong. It seems to be a manufacturing defect because as soon as I fixed 1 side then the other side started doing the same thing. The plastic supporting the grounding prong (the contact that is by itself) weak and separated from the base holding the bulb, resulting in a poor ground connection able to support only the tail light or only the brake light, but not both. I fixed this with some JB weld. I glued the plastic back together being careful to not leave excess glue in the socket, so I'd be able to put the light bulb back in. I also braced this using the JB weld and a piece of thin, scrap plastic placed behind the prong for added support, roughly the size same width and thickness of a popsicle stick broken to about 3/4" long. I clamped everything together with a small clamp and was ready to go after an hour of dry time.
It doesnt have carburetor it have injectors u should check the fuel filter
horses make neighing sounds
Dealerships will have the right to sell any conditioned car but has to inform the customer that it has no brakes and etc. If the dealership fails to inform you and doesnt give you a paper that lets you know there is no brakes and you get into a collision then its 100 percent there fault but make sure before driving the car away you inspect everything before driving If the sticker says "as is, no warranty" they can sell it in any condition.
anti lock brakes doesnt help you resuce the risk of injuries
There's always the dealer but I'd call your local auto parts stores and ask. well i have a 1997 jeep grand cherokee, and it has only one filter, which is in the gas tank. it doesnt have one on the outside. in order for you to replace the filter you havereplace the fuel pump because the filter is inside the fuel pump. the 1996 models have filters on the outside only.

a couple of things. 1: does it drive good doesnt stumble when driving if not the carby might be flooding..... 2: if it runs great and only dies when the brakes are applied, does it idle rough then die, it might be the brake booster. maybe your tcc solenoid, which is in the transmission. my 84 montecarlo did that with a new carb
he doesnt like you anymore
