Technically no, Ford previously owned a controlling interest in Mazda, but now only owns about 13%. They have collaborated on several joint ventures such as the Ford Probe/mx-6 in the 90's as well as the explorer/navaho, ranger/b1000 pickups. In fact it was Mazda who developed the explorer, which was branded the Navaha, and had virtually no sucess, while the explorer was and still is one of the best selling vehicle Ford has produced. I'm not 100% sure but I believe I read the other day that the Ford Fusion/Mercury milan/lincoln MKZ versions share the same platform (chassis design) with the lastest mazda6.
