People in Ancient Egypt lived in houses, the size depending on their wealth and class. They lived along the river. They slept in special rooms, in the sitting room, or on the roof.
Ancient Greeks traded with people all over the known world. They were pretty much working with those on the coasts of the Mediteranean and Black Seas.AHH, let's make this clearer:)Greece was ideally located for sea trade. Greeks made extensive contacts with people from advance cultures-Egyptians, Phoenicians, Persians and others. These contacts led to the spread of ideas that spurred the development of Greek civilization
According to modern research, specially by Ian Morris, in his paper Economic Growth in Ancient Greece and by Morgen Herman Hanser demographic studies on the total population of the ancient Greek polis civilization show that ancient Greece experienced significant economic growth and development, by pre-industrial standards. From the 8th century BCE to the 4th century BCE, the median size of houses floor plans excavated from the ruins of ancient greek cities increased from 45-50 square meters to 230 square meters. While the number of shipwrecks found and dated in the mediterranean sea continuously increased from th 8th century BCE to the 4th. Ancient Greek cities had developed sophisticated economic institutions for the time, as money entered in general use in the 6th and 5th centuries BCE, while banking and other commercial institutions flourished in Athens by the 5th century BCE. Trade was very important for the Ancient Greek economy, as Hansen suggested that half of the total food consumption of the Greek mainland was satisfied by imports.

In geographical size? Well then England is bigger, and in population as well (which again is relevant to land mass). But Greece with all it's thousands I believe islands put together is almost as big as Italy I read somewhere. But no, England is bigger nonetheless.

Persia is definitely not a city-state. In fact, many sources state that Persia no longer exists. The great Persian Empire is now the large nation of Iran, taking up over 1.6 million sq km (630,000 sq miles), and compromising many great cities, Tehran, Esfahan, and Shiraz among them. A city-state is a sovereign state the size of city, while Persia (now Iran) is much larger than a city, and actually consists of several hundred cities.
