yes the battery is still usable. look at the battery closely and see if there is any bloating or cracking or leaking anywhere. also check your main power wires to your fuse box, alternator, and starter and make sure u haven't blown any fuses or fuse links or burnt up any wires. if the pos and neg terminals were just touched together briefly then ur fine but if they were in contact for a while follow the above statement i made. hope everything is fine and good luck!
A spark, a ruined battery and possible an exploding battery.
it`s best that he wouldn't do this but if he does the battery will melt or explode or the wrench will melt the car can even burst in to flames.
only if it's off The plastic body of the battery, or one of the terminals, yes, BUT... disconnected from the vehicle or not, DO NOT allow any metallic object to touch BOTH of the battery's terminals [Positive and Negative] AT THE SAME TIME. This is because that touching both terminals at the same time with any conducting metal such as a wrench will create a SHORT CIRCUIT, and COULD cause the battery to explode, throwing shrapnel and battery acid everywhere for several feet around the shorted battery.
A dead short occurs which can result in the battery exploding A completion in the external circuit of the battery
this is fairly simple. first locate the battery. then using key wrenches eithe 10, 11, 12, 13mm, (usually 10mm) to losen the terminals. disconnect the negative terminal first then positive. remove the battery and replace with new battery. reconnect the the terminals starting positive first the the negative. tighten the the terminals with key wrench (tighten enough so that the terminals arnt lose). and your good to go.
It will throw sparks, melt a spot in the wrench at the point of contact and if it should stick, drain the battery and very likely ruin it. You do this just to check if there is juice in the battery and just for a second.
um....no. Doesnt come stock with one. But anyone can attach one. All you need is a wrench for the battery terminals and a little common sense
if it has the stock terminals, you need a 1/2" wrench. disconnect the terminals, starting with the negative (black). then, disconnect the red (positive). use a 10mm socket to remove the bracket that holds the battery down, and pull the battery out. put new battery in, put positive terminal on first, then negative, then put on bracket.
Pop the hood, the battery is on the right side. There are 2 terminals. The positive batttery terminal is covered by a red plastic housing. The negative terminal is not covered and is connected to the battery with a bolt that is a 10mm wrench. Take the bolt out by turning the wrench counterclockwise. Pull the terminal straight up.
tools: socket wrench (with extended arm), wire brush (optional) the battery is held in place by a small clamp grip that is located at the bottom of the battery, on the side closest to the engine. disconnect both battery terminals using the socket wrench, attach the extended arm & the appropriate socket--and unscrew the bolt holding the clamp in place. remove battery
Its on the drivers side of the car. I believe the terminals take a 8mm wrench and then there is a support on top of it with a screw you have to remove that i believe takes a 12mm
Take the Allen wrench that came in your tool kit and remove the 2 bolts just below the drivers seat (1 on each side). Then you can unscrew the positive and negative terminals on the battery and pull the battery out.
