About carbs in alcohol. Your body needs both carbohydrates and fat to obtain energy. Your body for energy will use carbohydrates before fat.
BUT
When alcohol is available the body burns carbs alcohol for fuel. So when it is burning alcohol, your body will NOT burn fat!
100% absolutely not. Most Alcoholic Beverages contain a lot of carbohydrates which are forbidden especially during the initial phase. Things like beer and wine will kick you out of ketosis extremely quickly and defeat the whole mechanism by which Atkins works in the first place. However, during off periods from the diet and in moderation alcohol could be consumed. Just know that when/if you do, you are no longer on an Atkins type diet.
