Is anyone familiar with the Chevy P30 6.2L diesel engine and troubleshooting the coolant system?

cooling systems are about the same for all vehicles, so I'd

follow the same guidelines...

also...everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the

local library should have a professional shop manual available, to

make copies of, in the Reference section...good luck:)

On these trucks use a 23 quart capacity cooling system if you

find it gets above 210 on the temp gauge pull over and let it cool

Flush the cooling system forwards and backwards also use a

flushing agent...refill and see well it does. check the fan clutch

to see if its working and check the bearing on the water pump also,

replace the thermostat and also the radiator cap if

needed....should fix any over heating problems you have.

If this does not help you probably have bad head gaskets

...common problem on diesel engines...try and use a cooling system

leak sealer for a cheap fix or replace gaskets.

Hope it helps you.
